Today our travelift underwent it’s annual certification inspection, performed by inspector Dale Collins. Our custom-built travelift has been inspected by Marine Travelift every year since Grenada Marine’s inception in 1999, and each year it has been successfully certified as being operationally sound and correctly maintained. Inspector Dale confirms “This is one of the best maintained travelifts in the Caribbean”.

Dear Clients:

We are well into the summer season here at Grenada Marine and we are arranging our project completion and launching schedule. Please let us know the expected dates for your return to Grenada and for a possible launch date. Please give yourself a few days between your return date and your launch date, so that you have adequate time to prepare the boat.

Please note the following public holidays when the yard will be closed.

December 24th 2010 to January 3rd 2011.

If there are any clients who are still awaiting information on estimates, projects or work lists, please let me know by return email. We wish to remind you that the boat’s account must be completely paid prior to the boat being launched, so please keep this in mind if you are arranging wire transfers.

As the hurricane season is here, we would like to take this time to remind you of our basic storm preparation procedure.

When a storm warning is issued, all staff members begin the process of checking and tightening straps, removing covers and securing items on the boats and in the yard. The office will send you emailed updates about the storm. At that time we would not be able to respond to emails or telephone calls as our primary concern would be securing the boats in the yard. Once the yard is closed, updates will be posted through our website www.grenadamarine.com and our Facebook account http://www.facebook.com/grenada.marine. After the storm has passed, our priority would be contacting the owners of damaged boats and inspecting all the boats. Your patience and understanding during that time would be appreciated. All updates and information available would be posted on our website and our Facebook.

Lorsqu’un avertissement de tempête est émis, tous les membres du personnel de commencer le processus de vérification et de sangles de serrage, retirer les couvercles et les éléments de fixation sur le bateaux et dans la cour. Le bureau vous enverra par courriel des mises à jour de la tempête. As 2009 draws to a close, we at Grenada Marine would like to take this opportunity to extend to you our warmest wishes for the holidays.  We wish to thank you for your patronage, and we pledge our continued commitment to provide you the best service possible.

This year saw many developments at Grenada Marine. We continued our investment of time, effort and funds into the improvement of our facilities, as we strive to make the Company the best full-service boatyard. Among the most significant improvements:

* We have expanded the physical yard to now include what we call Y4 (Yard Section #4) where we store multihulls on one side and monohulls on the other. Y4 is now fully fenced, lit, powered, watered and anchors installed.
* We acquired a Marine Travelift 60-ton transporter, which allows us to park boats closer together, increasing our storage capacity to an estimated 250 yachts.
* We renovated and upgraded the client washroom facilities and constructed an entirely separate staff facility, as we strive to make the yard a more comfortable place for our clients.

To all of our vendors and suppliers, we thank you for your services and look forward to a continued, mutually beneficial relationship for the upcoming year.

We like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your patronage. Feedback from you – our clients – has always been crucial to our growth and development. Despite some scheduling setbacks this year, a large number of yachts were launched during the October/November/December period.  As always, we thank you for your patience and for entrusting your yachts in our care.  We hope you will continue to let us know your thoughts, comments, suggestions and criticisms – all feedback is helpful feedback. For those of you who have already launched, we wish you fair winds and safe, trouble-free sailing for the season. For the boats that will be launching in the new year, we look forward to welcoming you back to Grenada and the service and warm reception you can expect from Grenada Marine.  To our future clients, we look forward to having you with us and anticipate the establishment of a long-lasting relationship.

Please note that the boat yard will be closed from mid-day December 24th 2009 until January 4th 2010.  Our security officers will be here on the premises during the holiday period as we will have clients living aboard and returning during that time; senior supervisors will be a telephone call away in case of any emergency. The restaurant will be operating limited hours during that time as well.

We wish to let you know that our new rate sheet has been completed and will be posted on the website in time for January 1st 2010. All rate changes are effective from that date.  We encourage you to check the website for updates.

We are quite excited about the construction of this building, as the employees were, up to now, temporarily occupying the area to the rear of the client washrooms.

As the construction of the Staff building was in the last stages of completion, we also began a program of upgrading and renovating the existing client washroom building.  The facelift included re-tiling of the shower stalls, new fixtures, installation of a lowered ceiling for increased privacy, and a full re-painting of the interior and exterior.

On Friday July 3rd, 2009, we had the formal dedication and official handing over of the Staff Facilities to the employees. Below is a slideshow of the dedication ceremony, as well as some shots of the client facilities.

On April 2nd, Grenada Marine’s newly revised website went live!

The website has been updated to make it easier for you to access information. Our services have been given their own web pages, containing biographies of key personnel and photos of past and ongoing projects.

Our Contact page now includes a web form that you can use to send us a short message; a directory of most-requested telephone numbers can be found at the Misc Contact page. All necessary forms and data sheets are available for download through our Downloads page. Our Online Reservation Form is still active, and now you also have the option of downloading a blank Reservation Form to complete at your convenience.

We look forward to your feedback, comments, suggestions and critiques about the new site format.
