General Yard Services
The general spirit of the yard is set by this all Grenadian crew, a friendly, hard-working group of guys who take care of our core business, the handling of boats on the hard.
The crew prides themselves in the care and attention to detail that it takes to make sure your vessel is safely stored ashore. They haul, then pressure wash each vessel, which is then carefully taken to its designated spot in the yard where they then chock the boat in the manner arranged by the owner, either on stands or in a cradle. Paint/Finishing
This department is housed in our two covered sheds allowing our crews to work within environmentally controlled conditions. From complete non-skid treatments, to AwlGrip respray projects, the Paint/Finishing crew produces international standard results.
Fiberglass/Composite
The fiberglass/exotic composite department performs jobs from basic composite repairs, to complex carbon fiber and exotic material projects and refits. Osmosis treatments and repairs are made simple with our use of the HotVac vacuum drying system. We specialize in vacuum-bagging, and core delamination repairs using high-pressure injection techniques. Click to read more >
Rigging
This department was developed in conjunction with Turbulence Sails. With considerable onsite expertise and an excellent stock, the rigging team handle all rigging needs in the yard, from standing and running rigging through deck hardware. This team also unsteps and resteps all rigs for a variety of reasons, such as removal for storage. The mast storage area is located right outside the rigging shop, and our onsite crane can handle the most complex dismasting projects. Click to read more >
Metal Work
This outstanding department quite literally makes custom metal accessories for vessels, in many instances a higher quality than the mass produced part being replaced. The metal departments utilizes mig, tig and arc welding to produce these one-off pieces, usually in aluminum or stainless steel. The bulk of these parts are push pits, pulpits, chain plates, arches etc. In addition the department creates and collaborates on problem solving during big refits or designing custom mounting brackets, special pieces for deck hardware or a specially engineered pieces for the standing or running rigging. Mechanical
Our mechanical technicians are more than capable of handling all the mechanical systems onboard, from the drive train through the power plant inclusive of all plumbing, pumps, water makers, steering etc. Recently, Grenada Marine has become authorized dealers/repairers for Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Northern Lights, Perkins and ZF. Electrical
The electrical/electronic department takes care of both the AC and DC systems onboard, maintains the battery banks and troubleshoots problems listed by customers, from the installation and maintenance of all electrical/electronic systems to basic shore power hook ups. Click to read more >
Bright Work / Polishing
This team of talented dedicated guys looks after the general care of your topsides, from cleaning from stem to stern, to polishing your topsides and metalwork, to cleaning and treating the teak decks. Click to read more >
Canvas/Sails
The canvas shop and sail loft, run by Turbulence Sails, can supply your new sail needs and canvas requirements as well as making repairs to the soft furnishing aspect of your vessel. Click to read more >
Wood Working
The wood work in the yard is handled by Shipwrights Limited, which is owned and operated by Artisan and master craftsman, American-born Fred Thomas, who has been working in this field for more than 30 years. Fred and his team of shipwrights pride themselves in hand laid teak decks and excellent varnish work on jobs from keel replacement to fine joinery on the furniture below decks. Chandlery – Island Water World
With 30 years in the business, this duty-free chandlery stocks thousands of items specifically tailored to the repair side of the business in St. David’s. The main store in the capital St George’s carries an extended range of items from clothing and electronics to books, etc. Daily delivery of both clients and pre-ordered products from St. George’s to St. David’s is well organized. The Office
All customer-related services such as inquiries, billing & accounts, ordering of parts, processing incoming and outgoing mail, arranging taxis and hotels, and any other general questions are all handled through the main office.
