Fiberglass/Composite
This department is headed by Nicolas Roelens. An expatriate French national, Nicolas has worked in boat building and design for over 17 years, interning as a teenager with Intersub as a composite technician. Specializing with design and fabrication of hi-tech composite materials (used in the construction of submarines), Nicolas opened and operated three separate workshops in Bahia Redonda in Venezuela, including designing and building custom boats for the Venezuelan Guardia de Nacional, and the conceptualization and setup of a telescopic carbon fiber bridge for military base in Las Aves.
Nicolas joined the Grenada Marine team in 2003 where apart from his duties as the overall technical director, Nicolas also helms the Fiberglass/Composite and Paint/Finishing departments. Under his guidance the departments perform extensive structural repairs and aesthetic refits on yachts, including the creation of custom moulds and fabrication using exotic composite materials. Since Nicolas joined the Grenada Marine team, the boatyard has developed a solid reputation for turning out the highest quality workmanship.
